UPDATED DUE TO COVID-19 CLOSURES


Once you receive your Utilities Easement Deed by mail, the attorney’s office can assist you with obtaining your bank or mortgage company’s signature to the deed. Here are several options:

LIBRARY: Please call 888-4628 to arrange an appointment with Amy Olsen. She will notarize your signing of the Utilities Easement Deed and Limited Power of Attorney Form. If you have a mortgage on your property and wish assistance, Amy will provide a Limited Power of Attorney form for you to complete so that the Village attorney, Stackpole & French Law Offices, can help in the process of obtaining your bank or mortgage company’s signature to the Deed. Amy will provide a postage paid envelope and mail the documents to the attorney.

TOWN/VILLAGE OFFICE: Please call 888-2300 to arrange an appointment with a Town notary. If you have a mortgage on your property and wish assistance, you will be provided a Limited Power of Attorney form for you to complete so that the Village attorney, Stackpole & French Law Offices, can help in the process of obtaining your bank or mortgage company’s signature to the Deed. The Village office will mail the documents to the attorney.

BANK OR OTHER NOTARY: You will need a Limited Power of Attorney Form. To request the form, please call 888-2310 or email carol.robertson@hydeparkvt.com. Sign and notarize your Easement Deed and the Limited Power of Attorney at a Bank and if not a local bank, include your mortgage holder’s address and phone number.

Deadline: Notarized Utilities Easements Deeds and Limited Power of Attorney Forms should be mailed by March 31, 2020 in order to meet the state’s compliance schedule for 2020 improvements.
